Kentucky School Board Association Scholarship – This $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to two high school seniors. Eligible seniors must be the first members of their families (parents, guardians, siblings) to complete degree requirements from an institution of higher education.  You must have a 20 or higher on your ACT to qualify.  If you believe you qualify, see Mrs. Combs.  Application deadline is November  at the KSBA office.

Elks National Foundation, Inc. The Civil Engineering Scholarship Program  This program is for students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree At Western Ky University, University of Louisville or the University of Kentucky.  Students can also take classes at other Kentucky state colleges/universities, with approved programs before transferring to WKU, U of L or UK.  Candidates must have an ACT composite score of 24 and maintain a GPA of 2.5 while in college.  College Freshmen and Sophomores currently receive a $5750 a semester to apply towards tuition, book, etc.  and Seniors receive $6150 a semester.    Students are expected to work for the Cabinet upon graduation for each year they received a stipend. Applications can be found athttp://transportation.ky.gov/Education/Pages/default.aspx  Application Deadline is February .

University of Pikeville Osteopathic Medical Scholars Program UPIKE and the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine present an 8 year cooperative program leading to a bachelor”s degree and the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.  Selected students must maintain the required GPA, achieve the required MCAT and exhibit ethical conduct are guaranteed admission to the medical school upon completion of their bachelor’s degree and pre-med requirements. NIAAA/KHSADA Student Athlete Scholarship – This scholarship is a $500 to $1,500 scholarship.  To qualify the student athlete must meet 2 of the following requirements; minimum of B+ average, ranked in top 25% of the class or a 24 on the ACT.  Student must have participated in 2 sports for 2 years and received at least 1 varsity letter in each of the 2 sports.  Applications are available in the Counselor’s office.  Application has to be postmarked by February .

University of Kentucky Athletic Trainers The University of Kentucky is looking for students who are interested in working as a student athletic trainer.  Scholarships are available if the student completes one year in the program.  Students must have a 2.75 GPA to qualify.  Information is available in the counselor’s office.  Application deadline is .

Miss Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Pageant– A $1,000 SKCTC will be awarded to the winner and the winner will represent Southeast in the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival.  Students must be enrolled in at least hours at SKCTC.  Apply to the admissions office of any Southeast Campus. George Crafton Memorial scholarship Program  The Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts will be awarding a $1000 scholarship to a high school senior that intends to major in the fields of agriculture or conservation of natural resources.  Information is available in the counselor’s office.  Application deadline is March .

Upper Cumberland Counseling Association Human Services Scholarships $500 award. Applicants must complete an essay (double-spaced) of 300-500 words indicating the students desire to attend college as well as their human service major and why they have chosen that field of study.  Available in the counselor’s office.  Application deadline is March .

Cunat International Scholarship $2,500 While serving as 1992-1993 governor of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District, Brian Cunat and his wife Miki established a scholarship fund to recognize and support Kiwanis-family memebers setting out to make a difference in people’s lives.  The Cunats believe that life goals should include helping others and making the world a better place for all.  One scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior member of the Key Club.  Applications are available at www.kiwanis.org/childrensfund/impact-and-programs/scholarship-opportunities/cunat-keyclub  Deadline is March .

Harry s. Himmel Scholarship $500  The Harry S. Himmel scholarship was established in Harry’s memory in 1989 by friends and family.  Himmel joined Kiwanis in 1928 and severed in various leadership positions, including the president of the Kiwanis Childrens Fund.  He was involved in extensive community and charitable causes. Linda Canaday Memorial Scholarship $2,500  The Linda Canaday Memorial scholarship was established in honor of Kiwanian and 2008-2009 First Lady Linda Canaday, a former teacher and Kiwanis member. Nathan Leach “Reach for the Stars” Scholarship and Adam Bender “Reach for Excellence” Scholarship $4,000 over a four-year period of undergraduate study ($1,000 annually or $500 per semester while maintaining a 2.8 GPA).  The student must be a Commonwealth Credit Union member, and be accepted as an incoming freshman at an accredited college, trade school or university They must also maintain a minimum 2.8 GPA.  Application deadline is March  .

Kentucky Republican Women Scholarship  Applicants are required to type a one-page essay about a Republican woman you admire or who has influenced your life and why. Application deadline is April 2, 2018.

Bluegrass Indo-American Civic Society Scholarships  Twelve $1,000 scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement and financial need.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office and on-line at scholarship.biacs.org  Deadline is .

Rotary Club Scholarship    The Pineville Rotary Club will be awarding scholarships to Pineville High School students.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.  Application deadline is April .

SEKC Scholarship $500 will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete graduating from a school which is a member of the SEKC.  The student must have a 3.0 GPA and not receiving a lot of other scholarships or financial aid.  Applications are available in the counselors office and they must be returned to the counselor’s office by April .

Bell County Extension Homemakers Scholarship $500 award  Applicants must be residents of Bell County and must take at least 12 hours of classes to be eligible.  Recipients must attend one of the following schools: Southeast Community College, Clear Creek Baptist College, Cumberland College, Lincoln Memorial University, Union College, Eastern Kentucky University, or the University of Kentucky.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.  Deadline is April .

Toledo Alexander Moss 4-H Scholarship   The Bell County 4-H Council will award one $500 scholarship through the Toledo Alexander Moss 4-H Scholarship fund to a deserving student in Bell County who will be a full-time University of Kentucky student in the Fall of 2015.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.  Deadline  is April .

The Ray Reed Bell County Farm Bureau Scholarship Bell County Farm Bureau will be awarding a $1,000 for qualified graduating students in Bell County.  $500 for the first 2 semesters if student remains a full time student and carries a 2.5 GPA.  The parent or guardian must be a paid member of Bell County Farm Bureau.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.  They must be received at the Bell County Farm Bureau Office by 5:00 on April .

The Pat Biggerstaff Bell County Farm Bureau Agriculture Scholarship  Bell County Farm Bureau will be awarding a $500 scholarship to a Bell County student whose parent or guardian is a paid member of Bell County Farm Bureau.  The student must be actively involved in agriculture classes or agriculture clubs.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.  They must be received at the Bell County Farm Bureau office by 5:00 PM on April .

Paul D. Everman Fund for Lifetime Learning Scholarship (KY Farm Bureau) This scholarship is (worth up to $3,000) for a non-traditional student is awarded to an adult Farm Bureau member who plans to continue undergraduate studies at an accredited Kentucky college or university.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.  Deadline is April .

Tuition Grant Opportunity  The Swiss Descendants Club of Laurel County is offering a $5000 Tuition Grant available to Kentucky students who are related (however distantly) to past or present Laurel County Kentucky Swiss descendents.  Applicant must have a 3.5 GPA.  Essay is required.  Information is available in the counselor’s office.  Application deadline is April  .

Louis F. Ison Memorial Scholarship (KY Farm Bureau) The Louis F. 2015 Congressional Art Competition An Artistic Discovery  Each year, the U.S. House of Representatives holds an annual art competition for high school students to showcase their talents and represent their congressional districts by displaying their artwork inside the U.S. Capitol. The first place winner will receive two free airline tickets to Washington D.C. to attend a banquet. Winners could also be eligible for a college scholarship. Pineville Kiwanis Club Scholarship A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Pineville High School Senior.  The selected senior will receive $500 a semester for the first two semesters of their freshman year.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.  Application deadline is April .
